    Along the National Road: Your Avenue to the Past
    - Glenn Harper
    Architectural historian and co-author of A Traveler’s Guide to the Historic National Road in Ohio, Glenn will recount the National Road's past and highlight its future. While focusing on the history and culture of the Road, so vividly illuminated in his book, Glenn's presentation will also reveal some of the folklore, stories and colloquial expressions that have made the legendary road so emblematic of the American experience.

    OGS members who are direct descendants of an individual who settled in the area now encompassed by the State of Ohio between 1 January 1821 and 31 December 1860 may apply for admission to Settlers and Builders of Ohio. Applicants who have proven their descent by 31 December 2006 will receive their certificates and pins at this luncheon.

    OGS members who are direct descendants or collateral relatives of any person who served in the Civil War (Union or Confederate) and who lived, served, or died in Ohio, may apply for admission to the Society of Civil War Families of Ohio. Applicants who have proven their descent by 31 December 2006 will receive their certificates and pins at this banquet.
