Eligibility

Any member of OGS who can prove satisfactory lineal descent from a resident of the State of Ohio who served in the armed forces of the United States or the British colonial forces of the original thirteen colonies prior to the American Revolutionary War, according to the Society’s rules and guidelines, is eligible to become a member of the Military Order of the Daughters and Sons of Ohio (MODSO).

Any member of OGS who can prove satisfactory service in the armed forces of the United States as veterans or are current military service members and residency of the State of Ohio, according to the Society’s rules and guidelines, is eligible to become a member of the Military Order of the Daughters and Sons of Ohio (MODSO).

All MODSO society applications must be accompanied by proof of descent and the payment of a non-refundable $40 application fee. Applications must first be approved by the appropriate lineage society committee and then by the Ohio Genealogical Society’s Board of Trustees.

Induction

The induction of new members into MODSO is held at the annual OGS Conference.
