Firelands Genealogical Society (OGS) – Clash of Cultures

October 23, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Free

Frank Kuron will be giving his presentation “Clash of Cultures” at the Monday, October 23rd (7 PM) meeting of the Firelands Genealogical Society at the Laning-Young Research Library, 9 Case Avenue, Norwalk. After the Revolutionary War, the Native Americans and the New Americans were in conflict over the lands that would become the Midwest of today’s United States. The activities of the Shawnee leader, Tecumseh, future US President, William Henry Harrison, and other players kept our Firelands and northern Ohio area hopping through the War of 1812. Kuron, a board member of the Fallen Timbers Battlefield Preservation Committee, has two books in print, “Thus Fell Tecumseh,” and “Sketches of Intriguing People, and the Curious Events They Suffered While Living in the Wilderness of the Northwest Territory.” Meetings of the Firelands Genealogical Society are open to the public free of charge.
