“Interurban Days of Norwalk, Ohio 1893-1938” with speaker Brett Dunbar
November 28, 2022 @ 7:00 pm EST
FreeMeeting of the Firelands Genealogical Society at 7 PM in the Laning-Young Research Center, 9 Case Avenue, Norwalk. The Sandusky, Norwalk, and Mansfield Electric Railway is the main topic, but the routes west to Fremont and north to Ceylon Junction will also be covered, along with the Cleveland Southwestern coming into Norwalk from Elyria. The author will also have a few copies of his 2020 publication available, Streetcars and Interurbans of Richland County, Vol. 1 (Mansfield, Shelby, Plymouth, Norwalk) for $15. Visitors are welcome and there is no admittance fee. “Firelands Genealogical Society” is the newly adopted trade name of the Huron County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society. This broadening of the group’s service area will also include Erie County, that OGS Chapter having disbanded a couple years ago, and this will better fit with our sister organization, the Firelands Historical Society.
