SUMMARY:Medina County - Family History Series: Patriot or Not? Using the GPS on a Closed DAR Line
DESCRIPTION:This case study illustrates how following the Genealogical Proof Standard (GPS) to collect records and correlate evidence helps trace a Pennsylvania family’s possible movement to Ohio and Indiana. The Colglazier family\, said to be of Westmoreland County\, Pennsylvania\, is traced through land\, probate\, census\, tax lists\, and military records to find if they are indeed the same family who moved west. Four research questions are posed with proposed solutions demonstrating various analysis techniques. Presented by Elissa Scalise Powell. Attend in person at Medina Library or on Zoom. Register to attend at https://medinacounty.librarycalendar.com/event/localfamily-history-program-29508.

SUMMARY:Jared Mansfield DAR Lineage Workshop @ OGS
DESCRIPTION:Jared Mansfield Chapter DAR has been blessed by its proximity to the Ohio Genealogical Society. For years our chapter members have been volunteers for various projects at OGS. It is $5 a day to use the OGS Library’s resources for those who are not already members of the OGS\, but the research assistance is at no charge. Bring with you any computers or devices you use for your genealogy research. Members\, prospective members\, and registrars of lineage societies are welcome to join us! \nFree tickets available below to reserve a spot; however\, pre-registration is not required at this time.
