DESCRIPTION:Come visit the Ohio Genealogical Society in Bellville to kickstart your family history and genealogy research! During this event\, attendees will not only learn the basics of research but will also have the opportunity to tour the OGS Library and Archives and view some of the most unique items in the collections. At 2pm\, there will be a Beginner’s genealogy workshop on tracing your family history in six simple steps\, led by expert volunteers and OGS Staff\, with time for questions. At 3pm\, OGS Staff will be offering “backstage” tours of the Library and Archives and displays of collection highlights. Attendees are strongly encouraged to use time remaining to begin their research in the OGS Library and explore as they wish! Staff and volunteers are available for questions and assistance until 5pm. \nSCHEDULE \n2 pm— How to Start Tracing Your Family History: A Beginner Workshop \nLearn to research your family history in six steps. Begin your research\, with expert guides on hand! \nThe first half of the workshop will be a lecture on how to begin your research and strategies for moving forward. The second half of the workshop will be open for audience questions. Attendees can either go on a backstage tour of the OGS Library and Archives\, or dive straight into their research using the resources at OGS! \nTo reserve a seat at this workshop\, please register below; tickets are free! \n3 pm— Backstage Tours of the Library and Archives \nAfter the beginner’s workshop\, consider going on the “behind the scenes” tours of the OGS Library and Archives.
