SUMMARY:Kolping Cincinnati Genealogy – Family Tree Maker 24 (FTM24): Web Search and Publish
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday March 15 at 2:00 pm\, you can learn about one of the most powerful software programs called Family Tree Maker 2024 (FTM 2024). FTM 2024 is a major new Family Tree Maker edition that takes this program to places its creators could only have dreamed of when it was first published back in 1989. It is the standard for detailed personal genealogy research (https://www.mackiev.com/ftm/) \nIf you are new to family genealogy\, you’ll appreciate how this intuitive program lets you easily build your family tree with simple navigation\, tree-building tools\, and integrated Web searching. If you are already an expert\, you can dive into the more advanced features\, options for managing data\, and a wide variety of charts and reports. \nNew users may feel intimidated by a program with so many features. MacKiev’s FTM24’s functions are divided into eight major “Workspaces\,” accessible from tabs at the top of the screen within the application: Plan\, People\, Places\, Media\, Sources\, Publish\, Web Search\, and Connect. We have reviewed four of these in two previous meetings; People and Places in November\, and Sources and Media in January. Mr. David Lahrmann and Dr. Tom Montgmery will be reviewing two more Workspaces in the FTM 2024 software program this March. David will concentrate on Web Search while Tom focuses on Publish. This March session will conclude the review of Family Tree Maker 24\, covering six of the eight tabs. \nThis meeting will be “hybrid\,” being held live in the Kolping Cincinnati Klubhaus\, and online via Zoom. There is no cost to attend\, and all are welcome. Please send an email to genealogy@kolpingcincinnati.com to receive meeting information.
