OGS offers Individual, Institutional, & Professional memberships. Choose the plan that works best for you! We offer Youth membership plans starting at $30 for those under 21 years of age.
The Ohio Genealogical Society gives its members valuable benefits including:
- Members-only access to resources on the OGS website (including Ohio marriages, Ohio births, Ohio divorces, and Ohio Civil War soldiers)
- Free Admittance to the Samuel D. Isaly Library, including free access to additional resources, free classes, and discounts on copies
- Discounts on any publications and store items (website or at the library)
- Opportunity to join OGS lineage societies
- Discounts on OGS Conference, OGS Fall Seminar, and OGS Genealogy Librarians Seminar
- Membership includes electronic publications.
OGS Institutional Membership is designed for libraries, historical societies, archives, and similar organizations that support genealogy and family history research. Dues are based on the institution’s overall budget. Institutional members receive the same benefits as individual members—including access to OGS publications, webinars, event discounts, and online resources—through a single point of access. Please note that institutional memberships do not include voting privileges. Hardcopies of OGS publications are available for an additional charge.
In our ongoing efforts to minimize expenses and streamline your membership processing, please note that when joining the Ohio Genealogical Society online you are opting in to our auto-renew process. This saves the society the time and costs of sending out electronic and/or paper reminders. You are able to turn off auto-renew in your dashboard. The Ohio Genealogical Society itself does not save your credit card information, but rather it is securely encrypted by our bank. Membership in the Ohio Genealogical Society is non-refundable.
