2024 OGS Bus Tour Journeyed to Virginia’s Historic Triangle

September 30, 2024

During the week of September 16, 2024 OGS Executive Director Noel Poirier took a group of OGS members, spouses, and friends to explore Virginia’s Historic Triangle. The bus tour, organized by the OGS, took the group to visit Jamestown Settlement in Jamestown, Virginia, the Museum of the American Revolution in Yorktown, Virginia, and Colonial Williamsburg in Williamsburg, Virginia. Attendees were treated to guided tours of all of the historic locations as well as getting to hear behind-the-scenes commentary from Executive Director Noel Poirier, who worked for 15 years for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in the 1990s and 2000s.

The group stayed at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s Woodlands Hotel and Conference Center and were able to dine, twice, at historic Shield’s Tavern at Colonial Williamsburg. Though the weather was wet during the duration of the tour, the attendees were still able to enjoy being surrounded by the important history of our early American ancestors. The OGS would like to thank Lisa Pfouts of Eagle Rock Tours of Fredericktown, Ohio for organizing the tour and our wonderful bus driver Greg for being both a great driver as well as great company!
