Deborah Kitko

Deborah Kitko was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. She received her BSBA/Marketing from the University of Akron and MLS from Kent State University. She obtained certification as a public librarian from the Ohio Library Council in 2001, continuing to renew the certification every 5 years. In 2004, she completed the coursework to become a certified genealogy librarian through the National Institute of Genealogical Studies. She annually attends the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh and has attended many state and national genealogy conferences.

In 1998, Deborah relocated to Wooster, Ohio and started her career as a full-time Genealogy Librarian with the Wayne County Public Library. She continues to serve in this capacity. She has served as President, Vice-President, Secretary, and newsletter editor for the Wayne County Genealogical Society. This is her first year serving as a Trustee for the Ohio Genealogical Society.
