I am John Tracy Cunningham, son of Tracy Cunningham Jr. and Eleanor Marie Walker. I was raised in Carmi, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Aerospace Engineering and a commission as an officer in the United States Air Force. 23+ years later, I retired as a lieutenant colonel, having picked up an MS in Logistics Management along the way. Then I worked as a defense contractor in systems analysis for 11 years before becoming a free man. I was overseas 1982-1985 and then from 1989 to 2019, in Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Italy. About ten years ago, I married the beautiful, delightful, and brilliant Betty Lynn Dickson of Texas, and we lived in Germany, Dubai, and Shanghai before finally settling down in Shaker Heights in 2019. I did my first family history when I was 13 and haven’t slowed down. Besides being a Trustee of OGS, I am President of the North East Ohio Computer-Aided Genealogy Society (NEOCAG), and I belong to NGS; APG; the East Cuyahoga County, Greater Cleveland, and Lake County Chapters; and several other societies. We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
