Montgomery County Chapter Special Event: Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery Historical Tour

October 12 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

Join the Montgomery County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society and Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, October 12, 2024, for the last of our four cemetery tours. This tour will be in place of our regular monthly meeting.

These tours are designed for the purpose of telling the stories of the people who built and contributed to Dayton and Montgomery County. Who were they and what did they do?

The Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery tour, hosted by the MCC-OGS, will take visitors around the cemetery and stop at specific gravesites to highlight that person and/or family to tell the story of what they did during their lifetime.

Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery is the newest in comparison to the other cemeteries that were on the 2024 tour schedule so they don’t have the pioneers, but they still have stories to tell.

Throughout the tour, visitors will experience a variety of people who are buried here.
Collection of local race car drivers
A local historian who documented Dayton’s history in photographs.
Collection of local and state politicians
Aviation pioneers
Hollywood TV and movie star
We’ll even meet a person who was buried and later identified using DNA technology
Dayton Memorial Park will also provide great examples of what can be learned from a cemetery for genealogy researchers.
